Tolerance, cultural diversity and multiculturalism education in Taiwan

Through theoretical approach, this article aims at analyzing the concept of tolerance, cultural diversity and multiculturalism education under the influence of globalization in Taiwan. Firstly, this article lays bare the definitions and critiques of tolerance and cultural diversity while dealing with the related issues. Then, it discusses the necessary of tolerance as the core conception in multiculturalism education. Next, it mentioned issues and problems of Taiwan’s multiculturalism educational reform since 2000 in a global context. Finally, it provides some suggestions about multiculturalism educational reform in Taiwan.
