Session Type: Oral

As human movements across national borders are increasing and accelerated, the state and other agencies more struggle to regulate flow of them all over the world. While points-based systems were adopted to introduce highly-skilled migrant workers by some countries, temporary employment systems for lower-skilled migrant workers are renovated and seem to be still popular. The Migration Crisis in 2015 induced the EU countries to strengthen its outer border, with enforcing the FRONTEX etc. In addition to regulation of flow, integration of migrant stayers has become a salient issue, particularly due to so-called race riots and terrorism. Therefore, some countries invented some ways to integrate migrant stayers such as language classes, citizenship test and oath.

What policy method did the state invent for flow regulation and stock integration in recent years? Are they effective or ineffective? Did the policy method prevail among countries, or is it peculiar for a specific country? This session attempts to undertake a comparative enterprise.
