Session Type: Oral
This session intends to enlighten the contribution of theories of civil sphere to examine the construction of environmental solidarities. Transnational solidarities could be envisioned as combination of ethic, action and connexions ( Saito, Latour). Their purpose suppose to combine local solidarities, national solidarities, transnational connexion ( Beck 2015).
The first question is to specify the change of meanings of public sphere inside globalization process. Globalization processes and media connexions challenge the notion of public sphere as a legitimized arena for public exchanges and for public argumentation (Habermas, 1979). The genealogical question comes to examine the differentiation of the public sphere inside the multilevel approach ( Habermas, 1994, Beck, 2004, Alexander, 2006)
* Transnational environmental solidarities can be examined on environmental issues as community of protection, as politicization on common issues and common problems ( energy policy), as interconnection of issues. ( climate networks) . The examination of environmental actions and policy constructions for sustainable politics in France, frames a distribution of social actions.-
The combination of multiple levels of solidarities and connexions, imply to articulate the norms of national public spheres on common issues.. This requires specific agent of connexion and mediations ( new activism). In this framework, can be make explicit the criteria of environmental justice formulated and supported in the channels between national public spheres ° The national criteria of environmental justice ( adaptation, equity, sustainable development ) could be reframed inside multilevel criteria of justice ( Lefebvre, Nussbaum, Dryzeck)
