The recent feminist mobilizations that we have witnessed at the global level have provoked a series of transformations in the world of art. A first level in which we can recognize these changes is that of artistic institutions, where structures and conventional forms of artistic recognition (international prizes, festivals or cultural industries) have been destabilized by the revelation of various forms of violence gender, labor abuse and harassment, wage gap and difficulties for the artistic consecration of women. Movements such as #MeToo are an example of how the new feminist mobilizations have impacted at artistic validation and awarding instances, interfering with artistic validation and legitimacy policies, including visibilization of the violence of gender in these spaces. On the other hand, the new feminist wave has given rise to an emergence of artistic practices, contributing to innovate in the repertoires of social contestation of historical feminism, generating new forms of contestation through art. Art thus becomes a form of action against the gender order, in response to the neo-conservative movements that have strongly emerged in the last decade in several countries.

The present session seeks to summon researchers to present papers on the relationship between feminism, art and collective action based on the following axes:

- Art, feminism and intersectionality: artistic practices and criticism of gender violence.

- An art against counter-current: repercussions of feminism in the institutions of art.

- Organization of the worlds of art: innovations from feminism.

- Working conditions of artists: precarization and self-management of art workers.
