Authors Meet Critics- New Books in Global Labour Studies

Abstract Submissions Closed

Saturday, 27 February 2021: 10:45-12:15
Location:

RC44 Labor Movements (host committee)

Language: English

Session Type: Oral

This panel will feature 3-4 recently published books in global labour studies. Featured books should have been published from January 2017 or later. Given the location of the meeting, we especially welcome books about, or by scholars from, Latin America; however, books on any region or topic will be considered. Books published in languages other than English are also welcomed. The organizers will invite critics to engage with each selected book in the panel. This panel is being organized in partnership with the Global Labour Journal, and reviews of selected books will be published in a special section of the journal.

Nominations (by the author or others) should include (1) a full reference for the book (including publisher and year of publication) and (2) a short paragraph summarizing the book in English. The organizers would appreciate if nominators could make electronic copies of the books available if possible. Electronic copies should be sent to Ben Scully (ben.scully@wits.ac.za). However, please note that emailing the book is not a replacement for submitting a nomination through the ISA online system.
