The human right is a spectrum of rights which are very intrinsic to human existence and realization of full potential, they need to be protected and promoted. Most often state, powerful lobbies of caste, corporates groups, dominant section of society violates the human right. Such incidence can only be reported by healthy media which can write with all boldness and can dare to be fair. But it is heartache to witness that in the entire modernization, globalization and revolution process human rights have taken a backseat. Media print and visual become spokesmen of ruling class and caste ignoring or giving little space to marginal section of society. This is for having favoritism from government as well as ruling elite. This is a dangerous trends from the human rights activists points of view.

Media can be a powerful instrument against abuse and violation of human rights and it can so spread awareness as to the rights of the individuals. The conspiracy of silence on the issue of marginal’s/ lesser is the result of an ideological disposition and selectively biased toward powerful groups. The commercialization of media and the trivialization of the content create a disconnection between the media people. Thus media share a responsibility toward the society as watch dog of human rights.
