This session will showcase a diversity of institutional ethnographic research exploring relations of coordination and control in different institutional sites. Researchers investigate specific modes of knowledge deployed by people to coordinate their activities in any field of action. The modes of knowledge examined might involve visual or numerical forms of representation, as well as verbal texts or speech; they might involve embodied knowhow and perception; they might involve everyday forms of knowing as well as the conceptual practices of administrators and professionals.
