Under the present conditions of a world crisis of the 21st century, defined by features such as: growing inequalities of neo-liberal globalism, extractivism, climate change, increasing xenophobia, racism, ethnocide, and neo-fascism, the rights of Indigenous Peoples, Afro-Descendants, as well as crucial issues of Environmental Justice are currently threatened by most of the political regimes today in power in most countries of the world. The main purpose with this session is to listen to representative voices from Indigenous Peoples, Afro-Descendants and Gaia, both in terms of the problems and dangers they confront - and their collective actions to protest and struggle against extractivism, assert their rights, help to decolonize the colonial racist legacy of eurocentrism, clasism and patriarchy in the social sciences. And thus actively and creatively contribute to solve the main challenges of the 21st Century, identified by the International Forum of Sociology 2020 in Porto Alegre in terms of: Democracy, Environment, Inequalities, and Intersectionality. In addition to the panelists, the organizers intend to maximize the dialogue with the audience in a democratic and ordered fashion.
