Religiosity can be studied in three aspects; use and functions of worship places, role of religious leaders and place of religion in believers' life and thought. From a broad perspective, these three components of religiosity are seen in a transition through changing their roles and functions. This flux/change related to religiosity or as a mean of expression of religiosity can be seen in Islam, Christianity, Buddhism etc. The aim of this session is to bring together different perspectives and diverse observations that show these changes related to places of worship, religious leaders and personal religiosity. For example, worship places are originally founded used to pray and to worship for their believers. However, in recent times, new associated functions such as economical purposes and show of strength became more visible in worship places. For example, multi-level mosque buildings for rent and income etc., and/or church buildings on sale etc. In many secular states, religious leaders such imam and priest perform their duties like a civil servant rather than a religious person in his/her living as a whole. Religiosity can be traced in cultural elements rather than traditional ways of expression of religiosity at the personal level. In this session, works on these issues will be discussed and then they hopefully shed light to detect whether or not there is a general trend or trends in transition religiosity; if so, what are they and so on.
