Abstract Submissions Closed

Wednesday, 24 February 2021: 16:00-17:30
Location:

RC13 Sociology of Leisure (host committee)

Language: English

Session Type: Oral

Spaces for leisure have been somewhat fixed in a modernity solving competing or contradictory meanings of play and sport with fences, goal posts, entry fees, memberships, "do and don't" rules, and indeed policing by private, public and informal personnel. This session seeks to explore and encourage debate on issues associated with belonging in spaces and how contentious meanings are addressed, abused and or ignored.
