The open session is at the same time an open invitation for papers with a historical sociology bent that do not fit the thematic focus of the other sessions of RC56, but nevertheless deal with topics of interest to historical sociologists or such that seldom find their way into historical sociological debates. Possible examples are reparations for transatlantic slavery, revisiting a key historical sociological figure in light of new publications or translations, or rethinking the canon of historical sociology from the perspective of the Global South.
