Over the past decades, individual-level databases on aging have become available for an increasing number of countries worldwide. These data provide unique opportunities to conduct cross-national studies on aging, which have the potential to identify patterns shared across countries, as well as to go beyond averages and model contextual variability in results. This session gathers papers taking advantage of newly available cross-national data to make novel contributions to the sociology of aging.
