‘I Feel You’: Theorizing Affect and Care through a Comparative Analysis of the Korean Labor Movement and Black Organizing in the Wake of the Ferguson Uprising in St. Louis, MO

Based on ethnographic research on the South Korean labor movement in the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis and critical reflection on community organizing in post-Ferguson Uprising St. Louis, my commentary reflects on the kinds of sociality that surfaced in those respective contexts and raises questions about producing new radical imaginaries – cultural and affective repertoires of dissent – in contemporary protests against precarity.
