This proposal seeks the answer to the question of how to include the body and the mind in the research of post-conflict societies. To do so, we propose to integrate social and health psychology, and neurobiology/psychophysiology into peacebuilding studies in order to study the bodies and the minds integratively, through the prism of 'the body-mind'. By doing so, we will be able to provide better answers why peacebuilding often falls short in the societies, where body-minds of people are stuck. By illuminating the underexplored connection between body-mind dynamics and peacebuilding, this project aims to provide new insights and interventions for reducing social distance and fostering sustainable peace.
