Attempts to Regulate AI in Media : A Policy Analysis for Developed and Developing Countries

Policies play a vital role in controlling any emerging technology. Artificial intelligence in has been in the limelight for the threats that it possesses to jobs and creativity. No aspect of human life seems to be left untouched by AI in upcoming few decades. Owing to this, many countries are rolling out their own policies to keep a check on artificial intelligence and make sure that it does not damage society and humanity to an extent that there is no coming back. This paper takes this endeavour in media studies to dive into the policies which have already been put in place by countries in order to analyse them and see its implications in different contexts for developed and developing countries. The method to be used for this study if policy analysis and the findings of this study are expected to aid policymakers in designing policies that better serve the needs and demands of the society.
