Muslims generally lag behind in most of the spheres of life in India. Education is the key factor for empowerment, prosperity, development and welfare. It is the instrument of change and development for the society. A well educated population, equipped with the relevant knowledge, attitude and skill is essential for economic and social development in the present era. Education is the fundamental requirement not only to the individual but also to the success of democratic system of government. It also brings a reduction in inequalities and functions as a means of improving one’s status within the family and develops the concept of participation. It is the only mechanism that enhances the process of social, economic, and cultural development of communities.

Since most of the studies related to Muslims, have been largely restricted to Sunnis, thereby, it is the need to the hour to have a sociological study on Shia Girls Madrasa. In Islam, it is one’s duty to be educated and both men and women have been addressed equally. The vision behind the establishment of Shia Madrasa was to enable the girls in educational area. Since a stereotype image of women was tended to be portrayed towards education, this Revolution gave them a platform that they achieve Dini (religious) Talim (education) as well. It served as a movement for the upliftment of girls and women on religious, moral and educational base. Therefore, in this context the present paper would try to analyse the role of Islamic Revolution of Iran and its impact on Shia girl’s education. It would be an attempt to investigate the impact of Islamic Revolution on Madrasas, how girls and women were empowered through the same, and the current impact that such education has on women.
