Globalized World through the Lens of Media Democracy

‘Democracy’, the term itself describes the participation of larger group of publics in the activity related to themselves. Media plays significance role in the establishment of democracy at global level. Media democracy emphasizes the larger participation of public or untrained users of media in producing content for their own interest. In contemporary globalized world, social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and tools like AI, digital media, blogging is being used at vast level to enhance the media democracy. Social media has given an opportunity to the larger amount of marginalized untrained media accessors to produce content of their own well-being at global level. This paper has used questionnaire-based survey method to elaborate the key point that instigates public to choose their own media platforms for accessing the content for entertainment or getting informed. Researcher has also done in-depth interview to light-up the patterns that help people to choose their media platforms for content production. The researcher establishes a point in the conclusion and says that, for the greater well-being of global world and media industry the tools and platforms of different types of media should be accessible to the layman. He also demonstrates that the media democracy is a vitally important term for the globalized relation in present time and governments should initiates strong policy for the development of media democracy.
