Building on the presentations of Kurdish writers who explore the processes of becoming and being Kurdish—seeking self-identity through self-expression within the broader political context of the Kurdish people in Turkey—I aim to highlight how healing serves as a form of resistance, and resistance becomes a form of healing, particularly in the context of life imprisonment, where literature functions as a powerful tool against systematic deprivation. I will also emphasize the profound relationship between self-expression and freedom of speech, showing how literature, even within the extreme confines of prison, becomes a vital medium for resisting repression, reclaiming lost time and space, and affirming the right to exist as a collective identity by constructing the truth and memory of the Kurdish people through the deeply personal and solemn act of writing.
