Due to rise in health awareness and influx of technology, wearable health technology has gained widespread acceptance among different age groups. The technology makes health monitoring easier but the older adults are resistant to adopt it due to varied reasons. The study adopts a systematic literature review approach to (i) explore the inhibitors of adoption; (ii) identify various technology acceptance models used in the literature; (iii) develop a framework to understand the adoption process of wearable health technology among the older adults; and (iv) propose future research agenda. It is found that several factors including technology anxiety, resistance to change and complexity demotivates older adults to adopt wearable health technology. However, non-adoption of such devices creates a sense of social exclusion among them and group behaviour acts as a prime factor enabling its usage among them.
