Social interchange and its environment are a promising research area in the context of the Anthropocene. The main goal of this study is investigating the generational or age gap in the audience of distinct types of social media platform manifests itself in education. Educators and Students have different patterns of using the platforms as well as preferences for diverse types of media. Many educators consider it is their role to control and give guidance to students on the use of social media. Nonetheless the difference in the way educators choose and use the platforms causes a mismatch that makes it hard for educators to play this role and eventually scares even them. Each social media platform has its characteristics such as an emphasis on pictures, short movies, texts and so on. Also, different behaviors are used for interaction: seeing other people play e-sports in a streaming platform such as twitch is very different from reposting and commenting news on facebook or redit. This makes the public of each platform diverse.
