Tuesday, 8 July 2025: 09:00-10:45
Location: FSE024 (Faculty of Education Sciences (FSE))
RC45 Rational Choice (host committee)

Language: English

This session invites empirical research that evaluates predictions of decision-making models across various levels of the micro, meso, and macro layers. Topics may range from the life course to residential segregation to social media to income inequalities. The models under consideration typically encompass rational choice, game theory, and actor-network models, although others may also be examined. The session embraces a diverse array of empirical methods, such as quantitative or qualitative observations, mixed methods, and experiments including survey experiments, but remains open to other approaches as well. Special emphasis will be on exploring micro-macro linkages between individual behaviors and social structures.
