This joint session between RC08 (History of Sociology) and TG09 (Sociological Teaching) focuses on the different histories of sociology teaching across regions and countries at the basic and higher education levels. We are interested in all kinds of works that address topics such as the production and circulation of textbooks, the politics and history of syllabuses, the changing in teaching practices and classroom experiences, the role of sociology as a discipline in basic education and HE and the training and recruitment of teachers.

We also welcome papers on methods and sources for doing the history of sociology teaching, particularly discussions on how to conduct archival work with unexplored primary sources and how to do comparative research on all these issues.
