This joint session aims to explore the intricate interplay between social love, solidarity, and emotions in the context of the contemporary interconnected world. In an era where digital technologies and social changes accelerate the fluidity of human relationships, understanding how emotions influence the creation of sustainable and supportive bonds is essential. Through both theoretical analysis and empirical insights, this session will delve into the emotional dynamics shaping practices of solidarity and social love, providing a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities characterizing contemporary research in this field. We invite both theoretical and empirical contributions aimed at exploring these interconnected themes:
- Exploration of the relationship between emotions and various forms of solidarity and social love, and how they reveal in different social and cultural contexts, including digital platforms.
- Examination of practices that promote cohesion and mutual support, exploring the connection between emotions such as empathy and hope and their influence on solidarity and social love.
- Identification and critical analysis of methodological and technical challenges in contemporary empirical research (both qualitative and quantitative) on the topics on solidarity and emotions.
