The United Nations encouraged countries all over the world to rethink about the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since the year of 2015, and it represented a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. These 17 interlinked goals address various global challenges, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. However, the pursuit of these goals is fraught with numerous issues, many of which intersect with the concept of global citizenship. Global citizenship refers to the recognition that individuals are members of a worldwide community and that their actions should contribute to the well-being of this community. It emphasizes awareness, responsibility, and active participation in global issues. Moreover, Education, targeted by SDG 4, is one of the most critical areas. Quality education is essential for fostering global citizenship as it equips individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to address global challenges. However, access to education remains uneven, with millions of children and adults, particularly in developing countries, lacking basic educational opportunities. Ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all is crucial for cultivating informed and responsible global citizens who can contribute to the SDGs. We hope to provide a oral platform to systematically collect and analyze, juxtapose, and interpret the interaction among SDGs, global citizenship, and educational reforms through the lens of Sociology of Education.
