Wednesday, 9 July 2025: 11:00-12:45
Location: FSE020 (Faculty of Education Sciences (FSE))
RC49 Mental Health and Illness (host committee)

Language: English

Developing countries face significant challenges in mental health awareness and services. Poverty, infectious diseases, drug addiction, and violence are often seen as problems of the developing world. But just as the double burden of disease is a problem, so too are infectious diseases and NCDs. In addition, mental health issues have been left behind. This session will focus on mental health in developing countries, particularly among young people. Although there are different definitions of youth, we will consider the age range from teenagers to mid-30s. In addition, we call for research on the mental health of young people from developing countries who stay in developed countries as migrant workers, etc.
