Since the beginning of the establishment of the biographical Research in sociology the biographical encounters in international level is a decisive aspect in it, as the collaboration between William Thomas and Florian Znaniecki, as well as the encounters between Fritz Schütze and scholars of the symbolic interactionism (USA) approach righty demonstrates. However, biographical encounters in international level around the biographical research continues to play a relevant role in the geographical expansion and further development of the biographical research in sociology. This session invites contributions that focuses the exploration of biographical encounters historically, but also in recent years, that demonstrates how fruitful and critical the international biographical encounters are for the further dissemination, institutionalization and expansion of the biographical research.
