The recent issues of concern for the police calls for a search for newer dimensions of policing where the technological developments can be utilised and manifested. Predictive Policing and use of AI in law enforcement exposes a façade of enhanced practices in policing. The use of Information and Communication Technologies have proved to be quite beneficial and a handy tool to reach out to the people. Therefore, a quest for new age policing with updated policing practices and a new philosophical underpinning is on the cards. Nations around the world are employing different policing strategies to meet the present demands of the public as well as countering the recent trends in criminality. However, a universal philosophy ushering in best practices from different countries may be an answer to the present and the future.
