In the last few years there has been a rising of social research carried out with so called "arts based approaches". The aim of this session is to debate how this methodology is carried out, if and what it takes from sociological qualitative research, and what are the pros and cons of doing social research with this approach, what are the possible expectations and the new opening this approach offers in the field of social empirical research with examples from both research and theory-building.
