This session invites submissions presenting methodological challenges and applications in risk and uncertainty research. Research on risk and uncertainty encompassed various methodologies aimed at understanding how societies perceive, communicate, manage and respond to risks and uncertainties. The submissions are open (and not limited) to discuss following:

  • operational definitions and semantics of risk, uncertainty, risk perception and other relevant concepts;
  • challenges of comparative research and method triangulation in risk and uncertainty;
  • application of methodological plurality in different cultural and regional settings.

Session welcomes the submission from different methodological traditions, including mixed methods research.
