There is a variety of micro-level decision theories that can be used to understand macro-level sociological phenomena. Sometimes simple theories suffice, other times more complex psychological mechanisms need to be considered. This session invites contributions related to a better understanding of micro-level behavior for decisions relevant to sociological contexts. These contributions can be theoretical deliberation on why certain decision theories can expected to be more powerful than others. Alternatively, we welcome experimental or other empirical work testing specific micro-level assumptions on decision-making and shedding light on which decision theories seem more empirically valid in certain contexts.
