Building Feminist and Intersectional Scholarship in Latin America and the Caribbean: Lessons from the Social Sciences
Language: English, French and Spanish
This session aims to generate dialogue between social scientists at various career stages in Latin America and the Caribbean to discuss their research on feminist and intersectional scholarship. We expect that the session will allow the identification of some of the unique challenges for feminist and intersectional scholarship in the region, as well as the strategies for advancing these perspectives. Ultimately, this session seeks to serve as a networking platform for exploring possible areas for collaboration, as well as for solidarity and advocacy regarding the development of feminist and intersectional scholarship.
The session will include 4-5, 15-20-minute oral presentations. We especially encourage submissions around the following topics:
- Situating Feminism, Intersectionality and Gender Politics
- Building Praxis for Feminist and Intersectional Scholarship
- Capacity, Solidarity and Advocacy within Feminist and Intersectional Scholarship
- Institutional Barriers to Feminist and Intersectional Research
- Feminist and Intersectional Backlash
- Decoloniality, Feminism and Intersectional Possibilities
