As the climate crisis intensifies, understanding global attitudes towards climate change and the environment is crucial for effective policy-making and international cooperation. This panel seeks to explore the diverse perspectives and attitudes towards environmental issues across different regions and cultures. By employing comparative methodologies, we aim to uncover how various societies perceive the urgency of climate change, prioritize environmental protection, and support sustainable practices.

We invite papers that analyze public opinion data, media representations, and policy responses to environmental challenges. Contributors are encouraged to examine the influence of economic development, political ideologies, cultural values, and educational levels on environmental attitudes. Additionally, the panel will address the role of global and local movements, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and international agreements in shaping public perceptions and actions.

Through cross-country comparisons, this panel will highlight both convergences and divergences in environmental attitudes, identifying factors that drive support or resistance to climate action. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the barriers to and facilitators of behavioral change, as well as the effectiveness of communication strategies in raising awareness and mobilizing communities.

Panel employs interdisciplinary approach, incorporating insights from environmental science, political science, sociology, and communication studies, aiming to provide a holistic understanding of global environmental attitudes. This panel invites innovative papers that offer empirical analyses, theoretical advancements, and practical solutions, contributing to a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of how global attitudes towards climate change and the environment are evolving in the face of unprecedented ecological challenges.
