Transformative social protection goes beyond traditional safety nets, aiming to address structural inequalities and empower individuals to build resilience in the face of socio-economic challenges. As the world of work undergoes significant transformations due to automation, digitalization, and the gig economy, understanding how social protection can adapt to and shape these changes is crucial. This session therefore explores the intricate connections and synergies between transformative social protection, the evolving landscape of work, and the pursuit of sustainable livelihoods. It invites submissions that explores impact of transformative social protection on labour market participation, its role in facilitating access to decent work, promoting inclusive employment opportunities, and addressing barriers to workforce integration. It also welcomes submissions that delve into the concept of transformative social protection, highlighting its role in not only providing immediate economic relief but also addressing the underlying causes of poverty and social exclusion.
