This special panel will highlight recent book publications in areas related to the social scientific study of religion. We invite submissions from authors who have published books in the field of religion in the last 3 years (between 2021-2024). All authors selected to join the Book Panel will have time to share their work after which there will be a robust and constructive conversation with the audience. Rather than presenting a stand-alone chapter or paper stemming from a book project, this panel will ask authors to talk about findings from their book projects more generally and the process of writing and researching a book-length project. The goal of this panel is for the authors to discuss their research findings and its specific contributions to the social scientific study of religion. The authors and audience will also engage in discussions about book writing in the field of religion more generally and advice for people interested in or working on writing books of their own.
