This session invites submissions on Racial Capitalism in a broad sense. Contributions are invited that study Racial Capitalism both within and beyond the Atlantic Triangle. What shapes did Racial Capitalism take in and between colonies in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the Americas, and which factors and mechanisms contributed to different expressions of it in different locations? What can we learn from early theorists on racial capitalism in various locations in the Global South, such as the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, or Latin America? How can comparing the phenomenon between different regions enrich our understanding of it? In which forms is Racial Capitalism ongoing today, and which strategies should we pursue to dismantle it?
