RC34 Sociology of Youth (host committee)

Language: English

This panel session invites theoretical and empirical papers on young people’s health and wellbeing, defined broadly as ‘relational wellbeing’, recognising the key role of social conditions and others in providing the resources young people need to thrive. Presentations focused on either or both understanding and improving young people’s wellbeing are welcome and the focus can be local, national, regional or global. Abstracts focused on the ‘Global South’ or ‘Majority World’ are particularly welcome. Presentations should take a sociological perspective on wellbeing, for example, showing how it is shaped by economic factors, social injustice and the ‘Anthroprocene’.
