This session will discuss the role of online publications on addressing issues that are relevant for society. Sociology has a social and ethical responsibility to provide knowledge that can orient citizens’ actions to improve their lives. The session will present different online publication projects, including magazines and open access journals, and provide strategies to make sociological knowledge known, used and cited, particularly with the use of social media.

We also recognize that social media play different roles in different communities, and that their impact can vary in relation to the topic. Thus, we also introduce and invite discussions on responsible and impactful publication and their promotions from different perspectives.
