Wednesday, 18 July 2018: 15:30-17:20
Location: 401 (MTCC SOUTH BUILDING)
RC14 Sociology of Communication, Knowledge and Culture (host committee)

Language: English, Spanish and French

This roundtable session will examine several case studies of the contemporary “globalized society” on Violence, Power and Justice; more specifically the sub-sessions intend to focus on important issues such as the contemporary aspects of mass culture (and the formation of “digital culture”), the problems of surveillance, the media receptions worldwide, current inequalities due to technologies or to the contemporary political organization and control. Through these aspects, it is wished to deepen the sociological approach on “issues emanated” from the social (and journalistic) major concerns.
