Building solidarities outside the neo-liberal frames of state-global capital nexus is one of the major challennges  of our times, art can have a key role for empowering immagination and for opening new horizons beyond the needs of security and defence that all societies seem to look for. Is art still representing Utopia in the sense Ernst  Bloch meant, "opening and expanding human kind instead of shrinking theirs lives as fear does", what is the new face of utopia in art in present time? Is art loosing the idea of desiring a new world or is simply doing it in a way which has to be discovered and understood? Are there forms of utopian thinking in contemporary arts, in the sense of desire and hope for a better world?
