The New Trinity: Simmel – Tarde – Mead

The emergence of relational sociology as a third paradigm demands a revision of the canon. The idea behind this session is to take a step backwards to take two steps forwards. We invite papers that propose new readings of the work of Georg Simmel, Gabriel Tarde or Georg Herbert Mead or, even better, that go back to the the Lebensphilosophie, monadology and pragmatism of the Belle Epoque to rethink the fundamental concepts of sociology and refurbish them to make sense of the new century.
