When Global Meets Local:The Dialetics between Indigenous Knowledge and Global Competition

Researchers from academic fields like multicultural education, sociology of knowledge, and critical pedagogy always remind us to pay more attention on the legitimacy of educational knowledge. In the past, the national curriculum/official curriculum all over the world tended to adopt the cultural integration approach, and they always were criticized to “encourage” the minority group students to accept the mainstream curriculum along with the global competition and standards like PISA and etc. To interpret the relationship between indigenous culture and mainstream culture around the world could transfer from the melting pot and salad bowl to mosaic, however, indigenous knowledge unfortunately still remained its disadvantaged status under the globalization. We hope to provide a platform to systematically collect, , justpose, analyze, and interpret the interaction among indigenous langauge , culture, knowledge, and global competition. Finally, we are looking forward to having the new definition and meaning of indigenous knowledge under the approaching of glocalization.
