Perhaps the most important problem that emerged during the Pandemic is Police abusive practices, particularly extrajudicial executions. There have been some social and institutional reactions to this illicit behavior, as well as renovated efforts to fight the ongoing crime trends. There is an urgent need to investigate the role of policing during the lock down period as well as the social responses against these practices. It is a matter of crucial importance for society and Sociologist can provide with solutions. In this session we will analyze social as well as public efforts to eradicate police abusive practices, to improve legal and democratic policing and to enhance the protection of citizens. We invite papers either from theoretical, methodological and empirical orientations.
