Power in every sphere of society is the result of a complexity of dimensions: material resources, social and cultural affiliation and status, personal character and leadership. In the family, in education, at work, in political parties, all kind of organization we can explore from a clinical sociology perspective to power issues. Enriched by some anthropological, philosophical and psychological views, what is governing the actual practice of power in the particular relationship of individuals and leaders in different institutions and collective action? The importance of a mythical thinking is still a major reference, more or less recognized in our actual societies, concerning the fundamental basis of power. It is to be critically examined by the individuals and collective movements in the private and the public sphere. The practice of power is also a rational, creative and participatory result, culminating in a democratic power action. Different situations could constitute illustrations of that dialectical social development between some mythical “transcendental” basis and more social democratic one. That could be examined through clinical sociology research and intervention results in organisations, the family, the community groups, focusing particularly on the individual and social relationship.
