Globally, crucial issues that women are facing today are: increasing burden of poverty, inequalities and inadequacies in access to resources and wealth, unequal access to education and health care and related social and civic services. There are incidences of growing violence against women. Women are marginalized and excluded economically as well as socially. They are neglected in governance and other such democratic structures and often left in the process of sharing of power and decision-making at all levels. Besides lack of respect and inadequate promotion and protection of the human rights affect the status and dignified survival of women. Many SDGs continue to have gaps due to inadequate mainstreaming of the women related issues. Several global issues can’t be resolved without adequate participation and mainstreaming of women in poverty alleviation, local and national policy making, democratic strengthening of the institutions and social and human development etc. The papers are invited to highlight the crucial emerging issues and alternatives in the context of women from developing and least developed world. The papers on any good practices for women mainstreaming and empowerment are also welcome.
