Across the globe, reproductive justice is an issue that feminist activists and scholars of color have fought for decades, highlighting how reproductive experiences are governed by social, economic, and political inequalities. Global South feminists have been particularly active in their critiques of population and development policies and programs imposed by the Global North. Reproductive justice as a concept connects reproductive processes--abortion, pregnancy, contraception--to global inequalities that distribute resources unequally between the Global North and South. This session seeks submissions with an interdisciplinary focus on issues relating to global inequalities and reproductive justice.
