Migration has always defined Indian society-people moving in, within, or from here. It has informed the social formation and cultural patterns of all ages. This session will focus on Indian migrants today- national as well as international. Research papers may include themes such as reasons for increasing migrants, their nature and characteristics, impact of Indian migrants on various domains, and it’s like. Covid 19 has exposed the glaring reality especially that of inter-state migrants in India. Deliberations can also include public policy gaps and recommendations for improving the life experience of migrants. Hidden and emergent issues will be prioritized. Intersectionality and inclusion must be pivotal. Attention should be given to the concerns of left behind women, children, and the elderly in the research work to be presented by scholars. Presenters will not be limited to those from India only and can include any scholar working on sociology of migration with focus on Indian migrants.
