The expression of global, regional and continental changes make the concept of precariousness in vogue today as one of the new ways of approaching the reality of work in various contexts of the world-system, opening bridges of communication and discussion regarding its scope, differences and geographical expressions. Currently, adding to the precariousness of the work under discussion becomes a relevant aspect of the explanation and mutation of the social and productive configurations of the continent that allows us the opportunity to hold a global dialogue with empirical research and conceptual approaches that problematize the inequality and synchronization of the process of capitalist accumulation from the North and the South as complementary forms of the same process. At this juncture, we propose to discuss conceptual and methodological approaches around the phenomenon of precariousness in context with different realities of the Global South, asking ourselves about the impact of the pandemic at the regional level, the persistence and deepening of precariousness at work, the segments of the most affected population together with the challenges and alternatives of the work group.
