Language: English and Spanish

Session Type: Oral

This is the regular session of the Research Committee on Sociology of Law about Social and Legal Systems. Founded in the late 1970s by Adam Podgórecki, it is the WG of the ISA-RCSL which traditionally engages in discussions on the theoretical foundations of Sociology of Law. It has, therefore, a thematic specialization. The main objective is to strengthen the theoretical-conceptual framework of the discipline. In this sense, the WG is open to the problematization of a multiplicity of socio-juridical theoretical matrices, ranging from the classical to the contemporary approaches. Examples: Marxist theory of law, systems theory, theory of norms and normative action, theory of legal pluralism.
