Cultural and creative sectors are drivers of innovation and creative skills, essential for the recovery and resilience emerging in societies and communities due to systemic upheavals both natural, social or due to global power dynamics. These sectors have dramatic social impacts once in Place, from supporting health and wellness to aiding in the formation of local community’s social capital. In the wake of COVID-19, labor digitalization, climate change, the cultural and innovative sectors are becoming a tool for a resilient community recovery if the social economy’s transformative power is being put in the political agenda. The Session invites papers that bring in data on international, regional, and subnational level in these changes currently taking place. We want to focus on the role of Social Economy Enterprises (SEE) and their entrepreneurs as they act in the cultural and creative sectors in terms of employment, cultural participation and funding considering the impact of the COVID-19 related crisis on the communities. Can they develop new modes of inclusive empowerment and participation leading to autarky ?.
