Flexibility is one of the main features of the labor market in the XXI century. The standard employment model, which has become widespread in industrialized countries, increasingly meets the requirements of the modern world. In the service economy, indefinite labor contracts and full-time work are being replaced by flexible forms of labor relations, which often result in a low level of social security for employees, and sometimes even the absence of any guarantees at all. It is no coincidence that the topic of precariat and precarious employment is given so much more attention in science and practice. In turn, the global decline in the degree of coverage of trade union membership, which limits the possibilities of social dialogue, only underscores the importance of this problem. In such conditions, it is extremely important to find and develop effective mechanisms for social protection of workers, which has become the leitmotif of this session.
Presenters are invited to discuss the issues related to the status and prospects of social protection of employees; the role and importance of trade unions and other associations of workers in modern society; problems of ensuring social protection of employees of the non-corporate sector of the economy; social partnership and corporate responsibility of business; state policy on ensuring the principles of decent work; global experience in building social protection systems, etc.
